Down at the Cross

Down at the cross where my Savior died,

Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name!

Glory to His Name, glory to His Name:

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,

Jesus so sweetly abides within;

There at the cross where He took me in;

Glory to His Name!

Glory to His Name, glory to His Name:

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name!

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,

I am so glad I have entered in;

There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;

Glory to His Name!

Glory to His Name, glory to His Name:

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name!

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,

Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;

Plunge in today, and be made complete;

Glory to His Name!

Glory to His Name, glory to His Name:

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name!

Forever Reign

You are good, You are good

When there's nothing good in me

You are love, You are love

On display for all to see

You are light, You are light

When the darkness closes in

You are hope, You are hope

You have covered all my sin

You are peace, You are peace

When my fear is crippling

You are true, You are true

Even in my wandering

You are joy, You are joy

You're the reason that I sing

You are life, You are life

In You death has lost its sting

I'm running to Your arms

I'm running to Your arms

The riches of Your love

Will always be enough

Nothing compares to Your embrace

Light of the world forever reign

You are more, You are more

Than my words will ever say

You are Lord, You are Lord

All creation will proclaim

You are here, You are here

In Your presence I'm made whole

You are God, You are God

Of all else I'm letting go

I'm running to Your arms

I'm running to Your arms

The riches of Your love

Will always be enough

Nothing compares to Your embrace

Light of the world forever reign

I'm running to Your arms

I'm running to Your arms

Message: Faith to Forgive God

What do you do when you realize you're holding a grudge against God?

1 Samuel 1:6–7 (NKJV) — 6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb. 7 So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat.

1 Samuel 1:8 (NKJV) — 8 Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”

1. Let God know. All of it.

1 Samuel 1:9–10 (NKJV) — 9 So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the Lord. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish.

God is big enough to handle your hurt.

1 Samuel 1:11 (NKJV) — 11 …will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life…

1 Samuel 1:19 (NKJV) — 19 Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord…

2. You worship one more time. And again. And again.

Waiting for God is never a waste of time.

The goodness of God is simply based on who He is.

1 Samuel 1:19–20 (NKJV) — 19 …And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. 20 So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) — 5 …“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Romans 5:8 (NKJV) — 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Great are You Lord

You give life, You are love

You bring light to the darkness

You give hope, You restore

Every heart that is broken

Great are You, Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

We pour out our praise

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise to You only

You give life, You are love

You bring light to the darkness

You give hope, You restore

Every heart that is broken

Great are You, Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

We pour out our praise

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise to You only

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

We pour out our praise

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise to You only

And all the earth will shout Your praise

Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing

Great are You, Lord

And dll the earth will shout Your praise

Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing

Great are You, Lord

And all the earth will shout Your praise

Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing

Great are You, Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

We pour out our praise

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

To You only

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

We pour out our praise

It's Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise

To You only

Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory

How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me

I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning

Then I repented of my sins and won the victory

Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever

He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood

He loved me 'ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing

How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see

And then I cried,

Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit

And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory

Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever

He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood

He loved me 'ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood

I heard about a mansion, He has built for me in glory.

And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;

About the angels singing, And the old redemption story,

And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.

Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever

He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood

He loved me 'ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood

Glorious Day

I was buried beneath my shame

Who could carry that kind of weight?

It was my tomb

‘Til I met You

I was breathing but not alive

All my failures I tried to hide

It was my tomb

‘Til I met You

You called my name

And I ran out of that grave

Out of the darkness

Into Your glorious day

Now Your mercy has saved my soul Now Your freedom is all that I know

The old made new

Jesus, when I met You

I needed rescue, my sin was heavy

But chains break at the weight of Your glory

I needed shelter, I was an orphan

Now You call me a citizen of Heaven

When I was broken, You were my healing

Now Your love is the air that I’m breathing

I have a future, my eyes are open

‘Cause when You called my name

I ran out of that grave

Faith for Forgiveness

Luke 17:1 (NKJV) — 1 …“It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

Luke 17:3–5 (NKJV) — 3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

Luke 17:4 (NKJV) — 4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

Luke 17:5 (NKJV) — 5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

God tells us clearly as followers of Christ that we are to forgive.

Matthew 5:43–44 (NKJV) — 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Matthew 5:44 (NKJV) —44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV) — 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Matthew 6:14–15 (NKJV) — 14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Forgiveness has nothing to do with:

1. Forgetting.

Forgiveness also isn't

2. Fair.

God is always just, but he's not always fair.

Psalm 103:10–12 (NKJV) — 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

So, what is forgiveness?

1. It is offering others the grace that God offers you.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV) — 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Living the gospel isn't just receiving forgiveness, but it's giving forgiveness.

Matthew 6:9–12 (NKJV) — 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

God asks you to forgive others—for you!

We choose faith and not feelings.

How much forgiveness do they deserve?

How much freedom do you want?

John 3:16 (NKJV) — 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I'll Fly Away

Some glad morning when this life is o'er,

I'll fly away;

To a home on God's celestial shore,

I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Chorus

I'll fly away, Oh Glory

I'll fly away; (in the morning)

When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,

I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

When the shadows of this life have gone,

I'll fly away;

Like a bird from prison bars has flown,

I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

Chorus

Just a few more weary days and then,

I'll fly away;

To a land where joy shall never end,

I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

Because He Lives (Amen)

I believe in the Son

I believe in the risen One

I believe I overcome

By the power of His blood

Amen, Amen

I'm alive, I'm alive

Because He lives

Amen, Amen

Let my song join the one that never ends

Because He lives

I was dead in the grave

I was covered in sin and shame

I heard mercy call my name

He rolled the stone away

Amen, Amen

I'm alive, I'm alive

Because He lives

Amen, Amen

Let my song join the one that never ends

Because He lives

I can face tomorrow

Because He lives

Every fear is gone

I know He holds my life, my future in His hands

Amen, Amen

I'm alive, I'm alive

Because He lives

Amen, Amen

Let my song join the one that never ends

Amen, Amen

I'm alive, I'm alive

Because He lives

Amen, Amen

Let my song join the one that never ends

Because He lives

Because He lives

Faith for the Future Romans 8

Proverbs 11:27 (NKJV) — 27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor, But trouble will come to him who seeks evil.

My faith isn’t based on what I feel.

It faith is based on what God says.

I have faith for the future because:

1. My sins are forgiven, and my future is secure.

Romans 8:1–2 (NKJV) — 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

2. Jesus is praying for me.

Romans 8:34 (NKJV) — 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

3. My future is greater than my present.

Romans 8:18 (NKJV) — 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

James 1:2–4 (NKJV) — 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

4. I have access to the peace of God.

Romans 8:6 (NKJV) — 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

5. God is for me. Who can be against me?

Romans 8:31-33 (NKJV) — 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

6. The Holy Spirit helps me in my weakness.

Romans 8:24–26 (NKJV) — 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses

7. God is working all things in my life for good.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) — 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

8. Nothing can separate me from God’s love.

Romans 8:38–39 (NKJV) — 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 59:2 (NKJV) — 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you…

Worship

I Saw the Light

I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin

I wouldn't let my dear Saviour in

Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night

Praise the Lord, I saw the light

I saw the light, I saw the light

No more darkness, no more night

Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the light

Just like a blind man I wandered along

Worries and fears, I claimed for my own

Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the light

I saw the light, I saw the light

No more darkness, no more night

Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the light

I was a fool to wander and stray

Strait is the gate and narrow the way

Now I have traded the wrong for the right

Praise the Lord, I saw the light

I saw the light, I saw the light

No more darkness, no more night

Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the light

Whom Shall I Fear

You hear me when I call

You are my morning song

Though darkness fills the night

It cannot hide the light

Whom shall I fear

You crush the enemy

Underneath my feet

You are my sword and shield

Though troubles linger still

Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me

I know who stands behind

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

My strength is in your name

For you alone can save

You will deliver me

Yours is the victory

Whom shall I fear

Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me

I know who stands behind

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

And nothing formed against me shall stand

You hold the whole world in your hands

I'm holding on to your promises

You are faithful

You are faithful

Nothing formed against me shall stand

You hold the whole world in your hands

I'm holding on to your promises

You are faithful

You are faithful

You are faithful

I know who goes before me

I know who stands behind

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

I know who goes before me

I know who stands behind

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

The God of angel armies

Is always by my side

The Same power

I can see

Waters raging at my feet

I can feel

The breath of those surrounding me

I can hear

The sound of nations rising up

We will not be overtaken

We will not be overcome

I can walk

Down this dark and painful road

I can face

Every fear of the unknown

I can hear

All God's children singing out

We will not be overtaken

We will not be overcome

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave

The same power that commands the dead to wake

Lives in us, lives in us

The same power that moves mountains when He speaks

The same power that can calm a raging sea

Lives in us, lives in us

He lives in us, lives in us

We have hope

That His promises are true

In His strength

There is nothing we can't do

Yes, we know

There are greater things in store

We will not be overtaken

We will not be overcome

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave

The same power that commands the dead to wake

Lives in us, lives in us

The same power that moves mountains when He speaks

The same power that can calm a raging sea

Lives in us, lives in us

He lives in us, lives in us

Greater is He that is living in me

He's conquered our enemy

No power of darkness

No weapon prevails

We stand here in victory

Oh

Greater is He that is living in me

He's conquered our enemy

Oh

No power of darkness

No weapon prevails

We stand here in victory

Oh, in victory

Yeah

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave

The same power that commands the dead to wake

Lives in us, lives in us

The same power that moves mountains when He speaks

The same power that can calm a raging sea

Lives in us, lives in us

He lives in us, lives in us

He lives in us

Washed in the Blood

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus:

Are you washed in the blood,

In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?

Are your garments spotless?

Are they white as snow?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior's side?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

[Chorus]

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,

And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;

There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,

O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

[Chorus]

Your Grace is enough

Great is Your faithfulness, oh God

You wrestle with the sinner's heart

You lead us by still waters and to mercy

And nothing can keep us apart

So remember Your people

Remember Your children

Remember Your promise, oh God

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough for me

Great is Your love and justice, God

You use the weak to lead the strong

You lead us in the song of Your salvation

And all Your people sing along

So remember Your people

Remember Your children

Remember Your promise, oh God

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough for me

Yeah, Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough for me

So remember Your people

Remember Your children

Remember Your promise, oh God

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough for me

Yeah, Your grace is enough

Heaven reaching down to us

Your grace is enough for me

God, I see Your grace is enough

I'm covered in Your love

Your grace is enough for me, for me

Lord I need you

Lord, I come, I confess

Bowing here I find my rest

Without You I fall apart

You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You

Every hour I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more

Where grace is found is where You are

Where You are, Lord, I am free

Holiness is Christ in me

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You

Every hour I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

So teach my song to rise to You

When temptation comes my way

When I cannot stand I'll fall on You

Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You

Every hour I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

You're my one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

1. Whenever people get close to you, they usually catch what you have.

1 Thessalonians 1:2–3 (NKJV) — 2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,

1 Thessalonians 1:5 (NKJV) — 5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power…
